Natural Latex is made from the precious sap or ‘milk’ extracted from the tropical ‘Hevea Brasiliensis’ tree and is grown as a renewable resource on plantations throughout the tropics. The natural milky juice of the rubber tree is processed to produce the most durable, comfortable and supportive bedding material known to man.
Rubber plantations are maintained using the least amount of insecticides and fertilisers possible. The fertilisers are usually used in the first year and the first production of latex from a tree is usually in its sixth year. Increasingly plantations are certified ‘Natural or Organic’ meaning you sleep on the most pure and natural of bedding materials.
The processing of rubber is considered earth friendly and leaves a minimal carbon footprint – producing a fraction of the carbon emissions that the manufactures of polyurethane foams produce.
